CLIMATE SUSTAINABILITY
Striving for climate sustainability is the principle around which we organize our product development. The first step on the journey to climate and environmental sustainability is to ensure circularity of all materials from wind power decommissioning. The next step is orientation towards the most favorable categories in the waste hierarchy to maximize re-purposing, re-use and minimize re-cycling.
Our baseline is energy recovery and recycling, but our ideal is re-purposing reuse. So, not only do we avoid landfilling entirely as a matter of principle, but we also avoid recycling whenever we can and work to ensure that all materials from WTGs meet the highest possible desirability in the waste hierarchy and ensuring all materials enter a new life cycle involving as structurally intact as possible.
CIRCULARITY OF RESOURCES
On our common journey to sustainability, Kingo Wind believes that guaranteeing circularity of resources is the best way for Kingo Wind to contribute to the great transition that industries are undertaking in this crucial decade to stave off the worst effects of the global climate crisis. Circularity means that no materials end up in landfill. The recycling rate of the entire WTG is 100%, including glass- and carbon fiber components. In our efforts towards circularity, we always provide full transparency in our waste handling and production processes, and related energy use.
TRANSPARENCY
Transparency for Kingo Wind means that we are producing life cycle assessments of our end-of-life solutions with the intent to make them publicly available. We collect primary data, which means we measure fuel and electricity consumption throughout our production. As far as possible, we use data that we have measured from our own process. Therefore, we know what we consume for all processes. We translate this energy consumption into global warming potentials.
In our iterative interpretation of emissions equivalents associated with in-house production and transport, we can optimize our production lines based on quantified data analysis and thus strive to minimize the impact of our activities on the climate and environment. This also means that we can provide partners with accurate and live data pursuant to our end-of-life portfolio.
